Zero Respawns

*cricket cricket* It's been pretty quiet around here don't you say? Whether it's because of the popularity of Heroes itself or just the fact that we all parted ways, HQ is old and tired. A couple months ago I reminisced about the 'good old days' of HQ with a few of you guys, and talked about the little things that made it a great community to be part of. We came up with a few things such as contests, events, special holiday competitions and just general activity in Heroes itself.

I thought how we could relive this all (especially for those that weren't part of HQ in the early days), yet stand clear of Heroes and turn it into a general gaming community. I made a post on HQ about it and due to the enthusiastic feedback decided it was about time to move forward. And to just answer your curiosity, no, it won't be in the form of Machinima Central.

Zero Respawns is a small, lightweight community that focuses on making YOUR experience the most interesting it can be. This may sound common sense, but for HQ we were not only selling a game to the public, but also selling the community to be 'the bestest fansite evaaaa'. Zero Respawns is not HQ. All the events/tournaments/contests are aimed at rewarding you guys for creativity, 1337 gaming skills and for being part of the whole. Gaming is far more exciting with friends beside you, and that's what Zero Respawns will deliver on.

Zero Respawns

It's also barebones, so it can develop according to where the community evolves. If you guys feel like reviewing games based on our fortnightly 'games night', so be it - a 'reviews' page will be developed. If you prefer making videos then a 'videos' page will be added. Unlike HQ where we tried to conquer everything related to Heroes, Zero Respawns is small, dynamic and versatile. We simply do what we need to do! You'll see some familiar faces from HQ in the Zero Respawns team, as well as some faces disappearing. Let's all take a moment of silence for s7oRm, who didn't want to be part of Zero Respawns.

Enough of selling the community to you though, it's time for some good stuff. First up, Zero Respawns is launching on 1st of May. That's less than a fortnight away, so it's exciting times. To celebrate the launch though we have a little contest underway that will last for the month. I won't be giving away the actual contest details, but it's simple (and non-gaming related) so everyone can enter. It will also be 'judged', meaning it's not going to be a pointless '25 words or less' raffle.

'That's nice, but what can I win?'. Well it's more than Heroians this time ladies! The top three entries of this contest will win their preference of Battlefield: Bad Company 2, Modern Warfare 2, and Just Cause 2. These were chosen due to the fact that Zero Respawns, whilst differing greatly, is still HQ 2. These games will be rewarded through Steam's gifting system, so to receive a prize you would need to have an account on Steam.

Speaking of Steam, make sure you join our group here. Steam helps to keep in touch and we'll be using the group to make announcements as well as the site itself so that there is no excuse not to participate!

So that's all I really wanted to say guys. Zero Respawns is less flashy, bright and cheery - but it's far more engaging to be part of. so if you have to choose one forum/community to be part of, make sure it's Zero Respawns.

Until I see you guys there, have a good one.
